Six persons have been killed when a speeding car ran over them in Bhotahity, Kathmandu Tuesday night. A car numbered Ba 4 Chha 8030 registered in the name of Shantiman Singh of Khichapokhari knocked down a group of people returning from Bir Hospital at about 12.45 am Wednesday, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Bina Singh, Madan Kumar Gupta, Dharma Nath Singh, Krishna Devi Gupta, Sanjeev Gupta of Sitamadhi district, Uttar Pradesh, India. One deceased is yet to be identified. Deepak Bista, has been injured in the accident, is undergoing treatment at Institute of Neurological Sciences, Golfutar. The driver of the vehicle is absconding. Locals staged demonstrations and obstructed traffic in Bhotahity area briefly Wednesday morning following the accident. Details to follow.
