UML tea reception underway

The main ruling party CPN (UML) is organising a tea reception to exchange greetings on the occasion of Dashain and Tihar festivals, Sunday afternoon. Leaders of different parties including Prime Minister and UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala are to attend the tea party at UML central office, Balkhu.

Also invited at the function are heads of foreign diplomatic missions, representatives of Nepal-based international agencies, imminent figures of the civil society and artists. The UML had also invited President Dr Ram Baran Yadav to the reception, but he expressed his inability to participate, as it would not be possible for him to attend functions organised by the parties.

Nepali Congress had organised a tea party on Saturday. Top leaders attending the NC tea party said they were hopeful of early breakthrough on the political stalemate.
