TMLP chairman Mahantha Thakur welcomed Singh during a special function held at party's central office in the capital. Speaking on his entry into party politics, Singh said he believed that TMLP would stay in the government and fight against all anti-Madhes policies. He also described the TMLP as the party that represents the suppressed voice of Terai.

TMLP said a rally in Gaur, the headquarters of Rautahar, would be organised to mark his entry into TMLP.Singh, who faces murder and rape charges and had been wanted by the police, had remained underground for some weeks even after being elected to the Constituent Assembly.
